Rodger Ramallo-Fernandez, our certified personal trainer, along with the Y’s fitness staff will offer you professional guidance - and help you get the results you want. They’ll help you utilize basic strength and conditioning to develop a solid foundation, increase exercise complexity to develop new capabilities and develop specific training methods to achieve long term goals. The Sidney Offerman Gymnasium features a regulation-sized basketball court with six baskets and fiberglass backboards, plus an official volleyball court. Pilates combines your breathing rhythm with the movement of your body. This challenges your flexibility, balance, stability and strength. Belly Dancing: Want to make workouts a lot more fun? Learn to belly dance and you’ll gain the satisfaction of improving your physical fitness and strengthening your body while enjoying a new form of self-expression. It can even relieve back pain! Abs & Butts: Learn conditioning exercises for your torso and abdominal area. The course may include exercises for oblique, hips, butt and lower back. Yoga: You’ll learn to tone, strengthen, and align your body using yoga postures called asanas. We’ll also use breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation (dyana) to relax and discipline the mind. Cardio Funk: Here’s the exercise class you could only dream about until now. Cardio Funk combines a great cardiovascular workout with dance. You won’t just improve your fitness, you’ll have a great time doing it. Personal Training: Achieve your goals faster. With one-on-one personal training you’ll gain the knowledge, motivation, and confidence you need to achieve your fitness goals, whether it’s to lose weight, increase stamina, or build strength.
