![]() Jewish Culture & RecreationPurim Carnival Info and Registation Jewish cultural awareness permeates various programs of the Y. For example, our nursery school kids enjoy a weekly Oneg Shabbat and Jewish holiday programming such as a Hanukkah party, Purim mask-making fun and our nursery's ever popular model seder. We encourage families to visit during our holiday celebrations or even to help lead the Oneg Shabbat with a story or fun project. "Tot Shabbat" "Tot Shabbat" is a new weekly program run by Cyndi Rand, our Jewish cultural educator, where children are surrounded by a world of Jewish fun and fantasy. Learning is enhanced by music, art, drama and cooking. Classes run October through May. Young adults and families are invited to attend our Judaic mini-school for our Oneg Shabbat and Chaggim (holiday) celebrations. We start with an apple-picking trip in October and continue through June where we will experience fun ways to enhance our knowledge of Jewish concepts. We offer classes for singles, young parents and seniors; we welcome your ideas and your participation. Lectures, trips, book readings and many other events are planned. For more information, please call Cyndi Rand,

Yeshiva After School Programming Now in its 6th year, the Y’s Yeshiva after-school program adds a warm and nurturing post-script to your child's Friday. Local children from Breuer’s Yeshiva and from Yeshiva Ketana of Manhattan meet after school to share a special Friday afternoon with their friends in gym, arts & crafts, and computers. Children are grouped by gender and age; each group is staffed by counselors and trained specialists. The Y thanks the H. Jeanette and Peter Kriendler Foundation for their past generous support and for allowing all children, regardless of financial ability, to attend this program. The Y also offers after school programming to yeshiva children when school is closed due to Jewish holidays, or for other reasons, provided that the Y is open. (Please check the Y’s holiday schedule.) Previous excursions have included trips to Chelsea Piers, New Roc City, Sony Wonderworld, apple picking, pizza, bowling and many other fun outings. For more information, please call Cyndi Rand,
