![]() The Brooke Jackman Family Literacy ProgramFamily Literacy Programs • School Year Literacy Classes Our family literacy programs are designed to engage parents and guardians and their children in activities that build strong language and literacy skills. At each session, we offer resources and strategies that families can easily use to support their child’s learning during the workshops and at home. We offer fun workshops that incorporate arts & crafts, music, cooking, nature, drama and other creative activities to make reading and learning a favorite and routine shared activity for all families. All sessions are coordinated by our literacy specialists, offer specially selected books and activities, and include special guest teaching artists. All programs are free and open to all! These programs are funded by the Brooke Jackman Foundation, established after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center to honor Brooke, who loved to work with children.
