The Y’s youth literacy activities are supervised by a literacy specialist and use arts & crafts, cooking and other creative activities to foster a love for learning.
Volunteers and special guests read to the children each week. The Inwood Public Library supplies parents and caregivers with a mini-library they can use with their children. These youth literacy programs are largely funded by the Brooke Jackman Foundation, established after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center to honor the memory of Brooke.
