![]() Literacy Programs at the YFREE FAMILY AND YOUTH PROGRAMS • Fall Kick-Off Event September 14th Afternoon Literacy for Children The Y’s literacy programs provide a fun environment that fosters a child's love for reading and learning. Each program offers great books, games and creative activities led by a literacy specialist and certified teacher. Our staff work closely with children to help them strengthen literacy skills. These programs are funded by the Brooke Jackman Foundation, established after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center to honor the memory of Brooke. For more info see http://www.brookejackmanfoundation.org. Free literacy programming for every age will continue Monday-Thursday this school year! Each literacy class emphasizes reading, writing and art making. This year we will be offering Photography and Storytelling, a digital photography and writing class for children in 4th-8th grade and Emerging Readers, a reading and art making class for younger readers. Please see the flyer below for a complete list of literacy course offerings, times and dates. Space is limited. School Year Literacy Classes For more information, please call Rachel Harris,
