Grades - K-6
September - June

Monday through Friday (program runs from school dismissal until 5:30 p.m., extended care Monday - Thursday until 6:00 p.m., Friday pick-up at 5:30 p.m.)

Kids’ Connection, the Y’s popular after school program, offers a variety of activities for students in kindergarten through the sixth grade. Kids’ Connection offers an array of age-appropriate activities designed to increase self-awareness, enhance social interaction and help develop each child’s physical skills in an encouraging environment. We offer homework time, sports, arts, trips and many other favorite activities, including swim lessons, cooking, martial arts and Fun Science! With our first rate specialists and well-trained counselor staff, we make sure your children are in a safe environment where they can develop socially and enjoy various recreational and cultural arts activities.

Depending on each school’s level of enrollment, Kids’ Connection will pick up students at PS 98, 152, 178, 187, 278, Muscota, Amistad, and Our Lady Queen of Martyrs schools. Since we have our own school buses, we can expand pickups to more schools if there is enough demand. When it’s time to go home, buses will leave the Y at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and weave their way around Washington Heights and Inwood to bring children home. There is an additional fee for transportation.

The Y offers a wide range of stimulating full-day trips and/or activities that coincide with the NYC public schools’ holiday schedule. Our program includes fun-filled, cultural and educational experiences includind trips throughout the metroploitan area as well as programming here at the Y with our exceptional specialists and counselors. It’s a great way to make a day off from school a different kind of learning experience and have some fun, too.

On days when NYC public schools are open half-days, the Y tries to accommodate the needs of parents/caregivers by picking up children at school at the early dismissal time, scheduling a day program, and keeping the children through the afternoon for the regular program and drop-off.

For more information, call Laura Sataloff at
