Marcie S. Gitlin has spent her social work career serving older clients in both the community and long-term care settings, offering empathic, knowledgeable, and informed concrete and supportive counseling services to a multicultural and socioeconomically diverse group of individuals, including residents in long-term care/rehabilitation skilled nursing facilities, and Holocaust survivors and their families/contacts.

Ms. Gitlin is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners), a Seminar in Field Instruction-certified instructor for social work graduate students, and has served as a hospice volunteer. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers NYC Chapter, currently serving as a Member-at-Large on its Board of Directors. A resident of Washington Heights, she maintains a longstanding personal interest in Eastern cultures, philosophies, and spiritual traditions, and has travelled extensively in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
