Let the fun continue! Y Nursery School students can extend their day in a super-fun way: our Nursery Electives! All classes are taught by educational professionals who are highly experienced in their fields. Not enrolled in the Y Nursery School? No problem! Nursery Electives are open to the whole community.

Piano For Tots (Mondays: 12-12:30 or 12:30-1) Come enjoy elementary piano lessons for tots! This class will be getting acquainted with the elements of music, learning how to read the notes and also perform very easy songs. This mid-day class is ideal for kids who do not nap.
Spectacular Sports - Soccer (Mondays: 3:20-4:05)
YOGA (Mondays: 3:20-4:05) Stretch your body and imagination with Ms. Emily! Learn some actually yoga poses and names in addition to inventing your own. Move around and feel good!
92Y Gymnastics (Tuesdays: 3:20-4:05) Children are introduced to gymnastics experiences by learning exciting skills on floor, single rail bar, low beam and vaulting apparatus with the help of specialty gymnastics props and games. Children participate in gymnastics warm-ups, strength, coordination, balance, flexibility and skill-building activities. Every child will receive an award at the end of the semester! (Class lead by a 92Y instructor, but taking place at the Y of Washington Heights and Inwood)
Bubbie’s Kitchen (Tuesdays: 3:20-4:05) You're never to young to learn how to prepare healthy and yummy dishes! Come join Bubbie on Tuesdays as we visit a different country each month! Your chef-in-training will learn basic kitchen skills, as well as how to prepare healthy and fun recipes, and so much more!
Ballet with Stepping Stone (Wednesdays: 3:20-4:05) Ballet fundamentals will be introduced to the early learner while focusing on developing strength and technique. Each class will combine ballet basics, rhythm exercises and imaginative play. Girl ballet students should wear a leotard, tights and ballet shoes. Boy ballet students should wear ballet shoes, a t-shirt and comfortable pants.
Let Off Some STEAM! (Wednesdays: 3:20-4:05) In these hands-on, student centered sessions, your young Engineer of a child will engage in the field of robotics, understanding the practical use of robots, and be introduced to Engineering in ways to help her/him create innovative structures. Visual art will be creatively infused into many of our Engineering lessons. Also in these sessions, young Scientists will engage in a series of hands-on, engaging Science experiments that are sure to enliven the spirit around states of matter, chemical reactions, and more!
Martial Arts with Pouncing Tigers (Thursdays: 3:20-4:05) The Nursery Martial Arts Program with Pouncing Tigers focuses on Martial Arts drills to build coordination and listening skills. The emphasis is on following instructions and having fun while learning the virtues of Martial Arts!"

Shabbat Rocks: Stories, Songs and Challah (Friday: 3:20-4:05) Get ready to jam out! We’ll be singing both Jewish and secular songs, tell stories and meet some puppets, all while preparing for Shabbat!
